BUYER GUIDE
What to Prepare for an Eyewear Sample Review
A sample review works best when the objective and the decisions that need approval are clear before the sample is discussed.
Define the purpose of the sample
State whether the sample is being used to review a product direction, a material, a color, a fit assumption or a custom branding detail. Different objectives lead to different questions.
Prepare the product direction
Provide a drawing, reference image or existing sample only when you have the right to share it. Explain which details are fixed and which details the supplier may propose.
List the decisions to review
Prepare the material, frame color, lens, logo, packaging and quantity assumptions that need to be reviewed. Mark the items that must be confirmed before a production discussion.
Confirm the sample process
Ask how the sample quantity, sample timing, approval steps and any sample-related costs are handled. These details are project-specific.
Separate sample approval from production
A sample review does not automatically confirm final production specifications. Record any approved change and confirm how it will be applied to later production.
Keep the review documented
Retain the approved sample notes, images and specification list so later production questions can be checked against the same reference.

Questions to review
Is an approved sample the final production specification?
Not automatically. The approved sample and written notes should be used to confirm the final specification, tolerance and production requirements.
Can a sample be reviewed from photos alone?
Photos can support a first review, but some material, color, fit and finishing details may need additional confirmation. The supplier should explain the applicable review process.
